FEMFORCE #11

COVER: Nick Northey/ Bill Black

EDITORIAL CONTENT: "Fem Facts" article summarizing team's history (repeated in later issues)

MILESTONES: 1st major battle with Alizarin Crimson begins; 1st app. Hildalgo Romero

1st Story: The Thing From the Egg (11 pgs)

Credits:
Bill Black, writer / artist; Walt Paisley, letters; Rebekah Black, colors

Synopsis:
Stella Stargaze, aided by her hypnotic eye, "persuades" TV personality Hidalgo Romero to finance the show she plans to air featuring the hatching of an alien egg. After Romero leaves, Stella calls Jungle Island to get a status report from Marimon, a technician she has secretly hired to incubate the egg. Right after their conversation, a flaw in the incubator causes an explosion, killing Marimon and stunning Janis Lawson. As Tara arrives on the scene, a huge alien form shambles from the lab and carries Janis into the jungle. Tara pursues it, but to her astonishment, the creature sets Janis down gently instead of harming her. Suddenly, Tara is clubbed and captured by Dr. Rivits, who explains how he escaped an almost certain death in the helicopter crash. T.C. Fremont, having received news of the lab explosion, races to the island in his own jet, which Dr. Rivits later steals to make good his escape.

Rivits credits his highly developed body to what he learned from the alien life he encountered earlier.... Hidalgo is called Hildalgo here (the first L is dropped in the next issue.)

2nd Story: Monsters (10 pgs)

Nick Northey, pencils / plot; Wes Covington, script; Bill Black, inks / edits; Walt Paisley, letters; Rebekah Black, colors

Laura Wright watches late night TV, absorbed in self-pity and lethargy over her diminished powers. Suddenly, two inhuman monsters emerge from the TV and attack her. Others quickly follow, and Nightveil is overcome. Imprisoned, she is drawn to the nether-realm dimension inhabited by Alizarin Crimson. The evil sorceress strips Nightveil of her cloak (and her hair), planning to make Laura her eternal slave.
