JLA/Witchblade

A new joint venture between Hasbro and Clayburn Moore comes this wonderful line based around the DC/Top Cow crossover production JLA/Witchblade. It may only have been a one shot, and it may not have generated much interest, but the action figures possibilities were simply too great to resist for Hasbro executives.

In the format of Hasbro’s previous JLA releases, this new line features phenomenal Witchblade sculpting from Clayburn Moore of Moore Action Collectibles, famous for his Witchblade action figures and sculptures.

This line features four previously unmade characters in the 5” scale. Of course, a Witchblade line would be nothing without Sara Pezzinni – this line has two! The NY cop “with a really nasty partner” features in this line with two phenomenally sculpted action figures. Version one sees Sara in her striking red and blue JLA uniform. This figure is accompanied by a beautifully sculpted Sara as Witchblade in the very same uniform, as seen in the final scenes of this intriguing comic book.

But Sara is not the only Witchblade in this line! The amazing Amazon Wonder Woman is featured in her Witchblade incarnation, with excellently sculpted Witchblade armour in the style of M.A.C.s famous creations. Huntress and Oracle as Witchblade were also planned, but sadly they were dropped for cost reasons.

Accompanying the bladeweilders, comes onetime Witchblade bearer, computer adviser to the JLA and old friend to Sara – Barbara Gordon, Oracle. Babs comes complete with a wheelchair and laptop for aiding Sara and the JLA. Originally set to complete this line was the scheming millionaire Kenneth Irons, but was dropped from the line with no explanation from Hasbro or Moore.

Each figure come individually carded with JLA action figure stands, except for Oracle, who is packaged in a special JLA Display Box. Hasbro are currently considering re-releasing these figures along with previous releases in three box sets:
Sara and Sara as Witchblade
Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman as Witchblade
Sara and Martian Manhunter.
