About CustomCon

CustomCon is a fictional toy show showcasing the work of several customizers. You will not find these toys in your local toy store.

They think there's no one left to save the world. They were wrong. The Spirit of the Twentieth Century. The God of the Cities. The Winged Huntress. The Sun King. Night's Bringer of War. The Maker. The Shaman. Born out of the ashes of Stormwatch, they are THE AUTHORITY. From battling superhuman terrorists to alien menaces, they fight to make the world a finer place. They are a higher authority and they're ready to change the world!

Apollo

The Doctor

Apollo was created with a Superman Blue body and an Exclusive Premiere Erik Estrada head. Having decided on the base earlier last year, I had been looking for a head that wasn't all grim and gritty since Apollo tends to smile a bit. I found him at TRU and I think it fits the character pretty well.

The Doctor was created from a SNL Nat X upper torso and arms, Sleepy Hollow Ichabod Crane for the lower torso and legs, and a Ringmasters Bret Hart for the head. The SNL Nat X has bare forearms, puffy sleeves, and a tunic that fit perfectly for the Doctor.

The Engineer

Jack Hawksmoor

The Engineer was created from a DC Direct Wonder Woman with a Das Pronto hairdo. Since there wasn't a lot of variation in the paint job I took a shortcut and used spray paint on her. It looked pretty good until I sprayed it with sealer. Now she looks a bit dull to me. I may reseal her with a gloss finish and see if she shines up a bit.

Jack Hawksmoor was created from a Power Slam Buff Bagwell base, heavily sculpted with Das Pronto for his suit. His feet are a Mummy's Alive Evil Shabti Trooper. Jack's wearing the outfit from Authority #3. I'm not real pleased with the custom; Jack ended up a bit bulkier than he should be compared with the rest of the group. He may be redone with a slimmer base in the future.

Jenny Sparks

Swift

Jenny Sparks was created from a Matrix Trinity body, X-Men the movie Jean Gray head, Matrix Switch arms and jacket, and a Metal Gear Solid Sniper Wolf for the shoes. Jenny is modeled after the outfits worn in Authority #1 and Authority/Planetary:Ruling the World. Jenny may be getting a hair repaint, as I don't really care for the shade I picked out. Laura Depuy's amazing coloring tends to vary depending on the ambient lighting of the scene and it's hard for me to judge the base colors sometimes. So Jenny may eventually end up a little blonder.

Swift was created from a Metal Gear Solid Meryl Silverburgh for the head and body, X-Men 5" scale Jean Gray (same base as Black Widow) for the arms, Savage Land Ka-Zar for the feet and the customizers best friend, Total Justice Hawkman for the wings. Swift is seen here in the outfit worn in the beginning of Authority #1. Originally she was going to be in a two-piece outfit but I didn't feel like sanding out the wrinkles on her stomach. The wings are hot glued to the figure.

The Midnighter
The Midnighter was created from a Metal Gear Solid Solid Snake body, a Slam 'n Crunch Buff Bagwell head and a Matrix Morpheus coat. One of the nice things about this base is that you can almost get the arms down so his hands can be out in the pockets of the trenchcoat, a posture that the character tends to be drawn in.
