Stephen King’s The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger

Roland Deschain

Roland is made from many different figures.  His head is Marvel Legends Longshot with sculpted hair; his torso is from a Marvel Legends Green Goblin; his arms are from an X2 Logan; hands are from a Lord of the Rings Legolas; his waist and legs to the knee are from a Marvel Legends Zombie from the Monsters Boxset; and the calves, boots, and feet, are from a Lord of the Rings Coronation Boxset Faramir.

The Coat is from Metal Gear Solid 2’s Revolver Ocelot; and his gun belts, guns, and hat are from Neca’s Sin City Nancy. The figure was painted with Citadel Paints and dry brushed to get a weathered look all over.

Series 1

J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan

Pan was difficult because I needed to find a good base for a child.  After some searching, planning, and sculpting I came up with the following parts: His head is from a Lord of the Rings Merry figure, his upper torso and arms are a deluxe Buffy TVS figure resculpted with “green stuff;” the rest, from mid torso to his feet are from an Avatar Ang figure.  His belt is from a Disney Pirates of the Caribbean Will Turner figure, sword from a Neca POTC Pintel, and his dagger and fairy dust pouch are random fodder.

He was painted with Citadel Paints and his skin was dry brushed with burnished gold to give the fairy dust look.

Captain Hook

Hook was the easiest conceptually though tough to paint.  His head is a Lord of the Rings King of the Dead, his entire upper torso, arms, frock coat and coat are from a Disney Pirates of the Caribbean Barbossa; his lower torso, legs and boots are from a Disney Pirates of the Caribbean Will Turner.  His sword is from the fodder bin, his hat is Barbossa’s, and his hook is a modified grappling hook from a Ninja Wolverine figure.

The figure was painstakingly painted with Citadel Paints.

The Base is from a Disney Pirates of the Caribbean: The Attraction figure, I believe called the Helmsman.
