Scooby Doo: The Movies
By Strange Mark Studios

Hot on the heels of Spring’s all-encompassing Charlie’s Angels action figure range, Strange Mark Studios go from one detective agency to another to bring us Scooby Doo!

This first wave of Scooby Doo action figures is primarily based on Mystery Inc’s first live-action big screen adventure. At the time of the film, Equity released a number of Scooby toys, but all based on the cartoon likenesses, amid fears the film would be a flop. Finally, Strange Mark Studios bring us 6” scale figures based on the film’s stars, Freddie Prinze Jr. (Fred) and wife Sarah Michelle Gellar (Daphne), along with Matthew Lillard (Shaggy) and Linda Cardelinni (Velma) and of course Scooby himself!

Fred and Daphne sport a wide variety of different outfits throughout both films. Fred is captured here in what we’re calling his “Journey to Spooky Island” outfit, a slight variation on the good old traditional cartoon outfit, whereas Daphne takes a slight departure from the original in her “Island Arrival” outfit, complete with multiple luggage bags to recreate the scene from the movie!

Rounding out the team are Velma and Shaggy. Certainly no less important, but a far less varied wardrobe, so Ms Dinkley and the Shaggster appear in their ‘real world’ versions of exactly what you remember them always wearing!

Completing the first wave is of course, Scooby Doo!

Taking a tip from Equity’s cartoon-based figures, wave two kicks off with the cartoon characters dressed in outfits from the second hit film, Monster’s Unleashed. Seen here are 4” versions of Daphne and Fred, hair and face looking just like the old (and new) TV incarnations, but both wearing distinctive outfits from the movie. Shaggy and Velma are also on the way in this style, look out for them in wave three next year!

Back to the big screen however, wave two will also feature Seth Green in his Monster’s Unleashed role, slightly crazy museum curator Patrick. Wave Two will also feature 6” scale versions of Shaggy and Velma, with Daphne and Fred following in Wave Three with the other 4” scale figures. All figures feature multiple points of articulation, as well as a load of great accessories!
