For years, customizers have been sanding, painting, sculpting, boiling-and-popping, frankenstein-ing, even creating new joints and heads, all for the love of the hobby (and maybe for occasional compensation here and there). What is it about custom figures that we all love so much? The skill involved in creating these masterpieces? Or the never-before-seen characters? We can all agree they’re addicting, whether you enjoy creating them, buying them or just gazing at the endless amount of online customized figure galleries. Based on a comic book, this show is a blend of sci-fi, action and comedy that will please the geek at heart. If you like watching Torchwood, Men In Black and Get Smart, you just might like The Middleman. The dialog is great to listen to with lots of pop culture references from comics to music. The show is on Monday nights at 8:00pm eastern on ABC Family.

Wendy Watson (Natalie Morales) thought mindless temp jobs were tough. Rather than focusing primarily on new features, Snow Leopard will enhance the performance of OS X, set a new standard for quality and lay the foundation for future OS X innovation. Snow Leopard is optimized for multi-core processors, taps into the vast computing power of graphic processing units (GPUs), enables breakthrough amounts of RAM and features a new, modern media platform with QuickTime® X. Snow Leopard includes out-of-the-box support for Microsoft Exchange 2007 and is scheduled to ship in about a year.

“We have delivered more than a thousand new features to OS X in just seven years and Snow Leopard lays the foundation for thousands more,” said Bertrand Serlet, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering. “In our continued effort to deliver the best user experience, we hit the pause button on new features to focus on perfecting the world’s most advanced operating system.
Snow Leopard delivers unrivaled support for multi-core processors with a new technology code-named “Grand Central,” making it easy for developers to create programs that take full advantage of the power of multi-core Macs. Snow Leopard further extends support for modern hardware with Open Computing Language (OpenCL), which lets any application tap into the vast gigaflops of GPU computing power previously available only to graphics applications. OpenCL is based on the C programming language and has been proposed as an open standard. Furthering OS X’s lead in 64-bit technology, Snow Leopard raises the software limit on system memory up to a theoretical 16TB of RAM.

Using media technology pioneered in OS X iPhone™, Snow Leopard introduces QuickTime X, which optimizes support for modern audio and video formats resulting in extremely efficient media playback. Snow Leopard also includes Safari® with the fastest implementation of JavaScript ever, increasing performance by 53 percent, making Web 2.0 applications feel more responsive.*

For the first time, OS X includes native support for Microsoft Exchange 2007 in OS X applications Mail, iCal® and Address Book, making it even easier to integrate Macs into organizations of any size.

*Performance will vary based on system configuration, network connection and other factors. Benchmark based on the SunSpider JavaScript Performance test on an iMac® 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo system running Mac OS X Snow Leopard, with 2GB of RAM.

Apple ignited the personal computer revolution in the 1970s with the Apple II and reinvented the personal computer in the 1980s with the Macintosh. Developed with Dodge’s credo of “bold, powerful and capable,” the Challenger delivers a modern two-door muscle car.
Three models will be offered in North America: Dodge Challenger SRT8®, Dodge Challenger R/T and Dodge Challenger SE.
Essential Hardware
The Dodge Challenger R/T features the new-generation 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine with a five-speed automatic transmission that produces an estimated 370 horsepower (276 kW) and 398 lb.-ft. of torque (540 N•m). The Dodge Challenger R/T also offers a precision-shift six-speed manual transmission - the first for a new-generation HEMI-powered car - that produces 375 horsepower (280 kW) and 404 lb.-ft. of torque (548 N•m) when running on premium fuel. The vehicle can go from zero to 60 mph in less than five seconds.
The Dodge Challenger SE powered by the 3.5-liter High Output V-6 with a four-speed automatic transmission produces 250 horsepower (186 kW) and 250 lb.-ft. of torque (339 N•m).
Patterned off the Dodge Charger architecture, the front suspension and five-link independent rear suspension system on all Dodge Challenger models provide excellent ride and handling characteristics.
Essential Styling
The Dodge Challenger design team stayed true to the concept revealed at the 2006 North American International Auto Show, while drawing upon elements from the original Challenger. The result: a bold, aggressive muscle machine that blends nostalgia with modern Dodge style.
“Our designers wanted to capture the mind’s-eye view of what people today remember about the Dodge Challenger from 35 years ago,” said Trevor Creed, Senior Vice President – Design, Chrysler LLC. “Their challenge was to excite today’s customer by capturing the emotion of the original Challenger, while offering today’s comfort and performance.”
On the exterior, the long, raised performance hood with scoops and recessed grille with round dual headlamps are reminiscent of the original Dodge Challenger. The bold A-line, or character line, that runs from stem to stern gives the all-new 2009 Dodge Challenger an instantly recognizable muscle car profile. Retro dual rectangular exhaust outlets complete the look from the rear.
On the interior, the trapezoidal theme of the door-panel cove and gauge cluster, dark headliner and slanted shifter console are inspired by the original Dodge Challenger. It's a beautiful car on the outside, but kind of plain on the inside. What happened from concept to production? It looks like Dodge pulled some parts from other cars rather then do a redesign of the dashboard.

The gauges on the Dodge Challenger concept were designed to look like engine cylinders.

This is the dashboard from the Dodge Challenger concept car. Notice the trapezoid shapes everywhere. The dash and console have a nice contrast. I love that 3 pronged steering wheel and the pistol grip shifter.

Here is another concept dashboard for the Dodge Challenger. They refined the gauges on this one. I like the silver color frame around the gauges. I hope this makes it into the 2009 model. The pistol grip shifter is gone and the radio and temperature dials are from the current parts bin. So is the steering wheel, which is the same as on the Dodge Charger and Magnum.

Here is the official 2008 Dodge Challenger dashboard. The gauges have been changed to look like the Dodge Charger with raised bezels and chrome rings. There is now a recessed area around the temperature gauges. This dashboard looks kind of boring. It needs some contrasting chrome or colored panels.

Here is the current Dodge Charger and Dodge Magnum dashboard. Notice the same steering wheel and the similarly styled chrome ringed gauged cluster. At least this dashboard has contrasting colors in the panels and face plates.

Just for fun, here is the dashboard from a 1973 Dodge Charger. Notice it also has raised bezels with chrome rings on it. I really like this steering wheel which inspired the Dodge Challenger concept car steering wheel design. The dash also has a splash of color to it.

The DC Comics Action Figure Archive

I've been collecting DC Comics related action figures for many years. If you miss out on the limited 2008 model, you will have to order a 2009 model.

2009 Dodge Challenger spotted

There have been multiple sightings of the 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 and the 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T posted on the internet.
Official photos should be online after next month's auto show.

2009 Dodge Challenger in Dark Titanium Metallic and High-Performance Red.

2009 Dodge Challenger R/T in Bright Silver.

DC Universe Classics Info Archive

Here is a new website dedicated to the DC Universe Classics toyline.

DC Universe Classics Info Archive

The site offers high quality photos, news bits, categorized listings, a checklist and other pertinent DCUC information. Not all parties are willing to accept the finality of Dusty's demise, however; and as Nightveil braves the Limbo Void to test the viability of somehow contacting her spirit, she stumbles upon an old mystery that apparently has come back to life. Ms. Victory faces an unexpected reaction from her husband, the man known as Paragon; when he learns that a clone made from genetic material harvested unknowingly from himself and Ms V may exist. Ms. V thinks of "it' as a monster, while Paragon considers it their son!! And when the being himself calls on Rad , it's hardly a family reunion as she beats the heck out of him and sends him packing. Could this unlikely turn of events lead to a reconciliation of sorts- or at least an alliance- between Ms. Victory and her estranged daughter, Rad? The plot thickens in a Femforce tale told in three chapters, "Post Mortem", written by Mark Heike, with art by Jon Doe, Robert Walker, Manuel Bennides, Jeff Austin, Paul Wills and Mark Heike, and a cover by Stephanie and Mark Heike.

Then, in the GTS -mania flip-book portion of the issue, Gargantarama- The Comic Book #6, its more giant-woman fun with epidodes from THREE great series, two of which are written by GTS madman Eric Johnston!! Marla Allison is back as Humonga, as her plan to rule the world of tiny men by amassing a huge personal fortune advances. See her in her new headquarters, a converted airplane hangar,as she belittles her new husband and browbeats her own tiny corporate board of directors!! By Johson, penciler Quinton Bedwell, and inker Rob Lansley. Then, the first episode of "I Married a Gammazon", also written by Eric Johnson, with art by Antonio Rojo and Paul Wills. Remember the Gammazon race from early issues of Femforce? We thought their entire invasion fleet was destroyed, right? Well, maybe it was, but one lone Gammazon was left behind, and she's quietly set up housekeeping with her human husband- until now!! Enter the Femforce, and trouble soon follows!! Finally, Threeta returns, as the superheroine made from the combined molecules of three beautiful young women becomes the focus of a plot hatched between a ruthless gangster and a renegade scientist in a story written by Mark Heike and drawn by Ken Hunt.

Read the front half of the book as a great new issue of Femforce- flip it over, turn it upside down, and it's the latest issue of Gargantarama- The Comic Book!! Femforce #142/Gargantarma #6 is 44 pages, black & white with color covers, saddle-stitched in standard comic book size, and printed in 2007.

Dodge starts taking orders for the 2008 Dodge Challenger

On Monday December 3, 2007, Dodge started taking preorders for the 2008 Dodge Challenger. Consumer Products (WBCP), on behalf of DC Comics, announced today that it has entered into a multi-year deal with leading worldwide toy manufacturer, Mattel, Inc., which names them master toy licensee for the complete DC Universe property portfolio. Under the terms of this strategic alliance, Mattel is granted unprecedented access to the complete breadth and scope of the DC Comics vault of characters, which includes more than a thousand world-famous DC Super Heroes and Super Villains, such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Joker, and The Riddler. Further, the agreement includes well loved characters such as The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Shazam!, Green Arrow and Hawkman. Financial terms of the relationship were not released.

In addition to the rights to existing DC Comics characters, animation and motion pictures, the deal gives Mattel rights to produce toys based on future DC Universe film and animation projects that are developed and produced during the term of the agreement. Mattel will support the DC Universe characters across all of its key brands including Hot Wheels, Radica, Fisher-Price, Tyco and Mattel Games.

Mattel will bring the talents of their world-class sculptors, designers and developers to create product lines that target both kids and collectors. In combination with their expertise in kids and kid-targeted marketing, product and content development, they will develop DC SUPER HEROES sections in the toy aisle designed to attract a new generation of kids into the DC Universe for the first time while fueling the flames of collectors’ and fans’ passion for these characters. With the broad scope of category rights granted, Mattel is uniquely positioned to leverage this rich portfolio across many different categories.

“Combining the power and richness of the DC Comics Universe with the unparalleled creativity and expertise of Mattel makes for an incredible alliance,” said Brad Globe, president, Warner Bros. Consumer Products. “Knowing that the vast catalogue of DC Comics properties will be in the hands of the world’s most successful toy manufacturer ensures a consistency and quality in product development for years to come.”

Beyond the strong stable of notable heroes that serve as the face of the DC Universe, characters from such world renowned super powered teams as the Justice League and Teen Titans will allow Mattel to expand on their extensive, existing relationship with DC Comics to develop products that go far deeper and broader with their individual characters.

“Working closely with Mattel across a broad spectrum of our characters will increase the variety available to our fans and collectors, and help introduce the DC Universe to a new generation of toy buyers. We look forward to collaborating with their dedicated team to make toys as yet undreamed of into playful reality,” said Paul Levitz, President and Publisher of DC Comics.

During its seven-year relationship with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Mattel has created and delivered a number of successful toy lines that bring the fun, action-packed heroism and excitement of DC Comics’ characters to life, including top-of-the-line action figures and vehicles for the 2005 release of “Batman Begins,” innovative toys for “The Batman” animated series, along with a collection of heroes and villains from the popular Justice League Animated Series and the Batman and Superman family of DC Super Heroes action figure lines.

“We are thrilled to expand our long-standing partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products,” said Neil Friedman, President, Mattel Brands. “We strongly value our close-working relationship and Warner Bros. Consumer Products’ extensive portfolio of characters from the DC Comics Universe presents a fantastic opportunity for us to bring even more characters to life for kids and collectors alike.”

RapidWeaver 3.6.1 Released

Realmac Software has released an updated version of RapidWeaver.

Everything you need for modern website creation
Say hello to RapidWeaver. So it ushers in an era of software power and sophistication never before seen in a mobile device, completely redefining what you can do on a mobile phone.

“Every once in a while a revolutionary product comes along that changes everything,” Jobs said.

Featuring a new input technology called “Multi-Touch” the iPhone features only a single physical button, called “home.” You control the phone by sliding a finger across its touch-sensitive 3.5-inch display, which has a resolution of 320-by-480 pixels at 160 pixels-per-inch display.

The iPhone, which runs Mac OS X, has full iTunes integration and can seamlessly sync data with a Mac, PC, or Internet service, including music and videos from iTunes, contacts, calendars, photos, notes, bookmarks and e-mail accounts.

The 0.46-inch (11.6-millimeter) thick device weighs 4.8 ounces (135 grams) and sports a 2-megapixel camera, volume control, ring-silent switch, 3.5-millimeter headset/audio jack, SIM tray, “sleep-wake” switch, speaker, microphone, and a 30-pin iPod dock connector. The quad-band GSM (850MHz, 900MHz, 1800MHz, and 1900MHz) + EDGE phone also has 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 capabilities. Jobs noted 3G capabilities will come in the future.

Three smart sensors also help control the iPhone’s behavior. A proximity sensor shuts down the display and touchscreen when the phone is held to the ear. An ambient light sensor automatically adjusts screen brightness to save power. Meanwhile, an accelerometer lets the phone know whether to display in portrait or landscape mode.

Despite the phone’s revolutionary features, Jobs claimed that the phone’s strongest feature was its redefinition of how calls are made. “We want to reinvent the phone,” Jobs said. “What’s the killer app? The killer app is making calls. It’s amazing how hard it is to make calls on phones. We want you to use contacts like never before.”

A Visual Voice-mail feature allows users to skip directly to voice mails they want to hear. An easy-to-use conference call feature lets users connect two calls with one touch of the screen. Text messaging on the iPhone is similar to iChat, with user dialogue encased in bubbles and with familiar iChat sounds, and a touch keyboard appears below for entering text.

The iPhone uses its Wi-Fi and EDGE capabilities to automatically connect to the Internet. Internet connectivity includes HTML-capable e-mail that works with any IMAP or POP3 e-mail service. Jobs also announced that Yahoo will offer free push e-mail—similar to the e-mail system on a Blackberry—to all iPhone customers.

Apple also included its Safari web browser, and the phone can use its Internet capabilities to view standard Web pages, rather than WAP versions of pages. Integrated Google Maps functionality lets users look up locations, search for local businesses, and view satellite imagery. The iPhone also supports Dashboard widgets, and Apple announced it will include weather and stock widgets.

The iPhone’s photo management features are equally interesting. Its software enables users to use a “pinching” motion to zoom in and out of pictures, and to orient pictures in standard or landscape mode. When playing music, the iPhone can automatically adjust levels up or down as calls come in.

The iPhone will come in two versions: a 4GB, $499 model and an 8GB, $599 model. Both will require a two-year contract with Cingular, the exclusive U.S. carrier. Both models will be available beginning in June from Apple Stores and from Cingular.

Apple announces Apple TV

Your computer is the center of your digital life.
