About CustomCon

CustomCon is a fictional toy show showcasing the work of several customizers. You will not find these toys in your local toy store.

CustomCon 7

September 30, 2002 - October 4, 2002

CustomCon shows off the custom action figures of many different Customizers. It is in the format of a fictional toy action figure trade show or convention. There are daily reports and pictures of the action figures that are participating in the CustomCon.

You can visit the previous CustomCons to get an idea of what we are planning to do.

ENTRY DEADLINE:
The deadline will be Sunday September 15, 2002.

ENTRY GUIDELINES:
So how can you participate? Well, the key is to make several figures that would be in the same toy line. You could make a new wave of DC Direct figures (a current series), a new wave of Star Trek figures (a previous series). You can also make a line of Super-Duper Creep Busting figures! (That would be your own unique line.) You could also make figures based on something like Kingdom Come, or Heroes Reborn. Even Knight Rider, Galaxy Quest, or Wrestling. (That is to say, movies and TV series are open too.) Basically, the sky's the limit!

Just make sure each group of figures shares a common theme. You should come up with a name for your line of figures if it's an original line, and give some sort of description of the action figure line.

Custom packaging is, of course, an option, but it is certainly not required.
If possible, we would ask that you photograph the figures so that it looks like they are on display at a convention. If you have custom packaging, it's best to have pictures both loose and in the packages.

This year, there's no limit on how few customs you have to submit for a line. 4 or more would be appreciated, but any number is fine.

Thank you,
Joe Acevedo

Ready to Submit your ENTRY?

Send your submissions to joeacevedo@yahoo.com. Please e-mail me the following:

  • Your first and last name, or just the nickname you go by online. Your preference.
  • Your email address.
  • Your custom figure website address, if applicable.
  • A picture of yourself, (OPTIONAL).
  • The name of your figure line.
  • Any custom logos you wish to use for your toyline. (OPTIONAL)
  • E-mail me pictures of your figures. I only have 6MB of total space in my e-mail account. I empty it as the pictures come in so that others can send theirs. So if you can, please send me One single ZIP file with all of your pictures of the customs. These can be GIF or JPG format. They may be resized slightly to fit on the webpages. Rest assured, I will do my best to not lose any detail of the customs.
  • A Description of what they were made from (your toy recipe). Please do not send an MS Word (.doc) file, as I won't be able to read it. Please type, or "copy & paste" this into an e-mail, or you can also send it as a (.html) file if you want.
  • A Description of the action figure line (convention write-up report). Please do not send an MS Word (.doc) file, as I won't be able to read it. Please type, or "copy & paste" this into an e-mail, or you can also send it as a (.html) file if you want.
  • If your page has special requirements for the appearance, please let me know. I'll definitely be willing to work with you on the appearance if you're meticulous about that sort of thing. All of the pages will have joeacevedo.com's shared borders. (i.e. My site navigation at the top and the CustomCon menu at the left.)
  • If for any reason, you can't follow any of these directions due to technical issues, please email me so that we can work something out. One acceptable technical issue would be your ZIP file being bigger than your Internet Provider will allow to be sent through email.
