About CustomCon

CustomCon is a fictional toy show showcasing the work of several customizers. You will not find these toys in your local toy store.

It's been five long years since the last volume was published, but the folks at Bantam Books have announced a collaboration with Baen Publishing and the fledgling Pamster Toy Company to introduce a line of action figures based on characters from the popular Wild Cards mosaic novels. Set in a world like our own; save for the alien Takisian Virus which killed tens of thousands, disfigured thousands and left a precious lucky few with fantastic powers; the Wild Cards novels feature the exploits of characters created by some of the top writers in science fiction, including George R. R. Martin, Roger Zelazny, Melinda Snodgrass, Chris Claremont, John J. Miller, Stephen Leigh, Walter Jon Williams, Lewis Shiner and many, mnay more. The books were written in the "mosaic" format, allowing each author to write the chapters featuring their own characters.

This is Daniel Brennan aka Yeoman, a vigilante archer whose skill and ruthlessness make him the equal of even super-powered foes.

Jack Robicheaux is a track checker with the New York Transit Authority and this figure shows him in his NYTA uniform. He also happens to be a were-alligator, thanks to the Wild Card Virus. Both toys are sold in one package.

This is Peregrine, the beautiful ace who hosts a late-night talk show and still finds the time to fight crime.

This little fellow is Arnie Fentner, aka Kid Dinosaur. His ace power was the ability to transform himself into various dinosaur forms, but always weighing the same as he did in human form. He was murdered by The Astronomer on September 15, 1986, at the age of 14.

After an abortive crimefighting career as Fatman, gourmet Hiram Worchester founded Aces High, a restaurant catering to aces and other celebrities. Thanks to his gravity control powers, the hefty chef only weighs 30 pounds!
