About CustomCon

CustomCon is a fictional toy show showcasing the work of several customizers. You will not find these toys in your local toy store.

"Look, up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's...SUPERMAN!"

Hasbro announced its new Superman: The Movies line this week, and shocked the toy market with its bold marketing. Targeting older collectors who remember the Christopher Reeve movies, a Hasbro spokesman told us the popularity of the animated style and the collectability of the films is sure to make the line a hit.

SUPERMAN III

JIMMY OLSON: "A photographer eats with his camera, sleeps with his camera." Ambitious and full of youthful exuberance, Jimmy constantly places himself in harms way. He wants to be the next big photographer for the Daily Planet. Jimmy comes with his camera, so he's always prepared for the big photo.

GUS GORMAN: "Superman? Me an' him go way back!" Gus Gorman is a computer programmer who bungles his way into a plot to change the weather, poison Superman, build a supercomputer, and wear a goofy foam cowboy hat. Gus is equipped with Kryptonite and a computer.

SUPERMAN IV

LEX LUTHOR: "Goodbye Superman. Parting is...inevitable." The greatest criminal mind of our time just can't get any respect. After parting with Otis, Luthor is smacked around by Zod, mocked by fellow cellmates, and teams up with the incessantly lame John Cryer. Lex has a wig and briefcase.

NUCLEAR MAN: "Destroy Superman. But first...some fun." Not since Dolph Lundgren donned the Punisher suit has a single performance soured a comic book adaptation. Born in a nuclear explosion, Nuclear Man has the single-minded obsession of killing the Man of Steel.
