Avengers Unlimited Series 2

In a move that fans never thought would happen, Marvel and DC have joined forces to create the ultimate 5-part miniseries: Justice League Unlimited versus The Avengers!!!  And even more surprising is that Marvel gave Mattel the go-ahead to produce Avengers Unlimited figures in the JLU scale!  The debut last spring was a big hit with the fans, who were eager for more.  However, some may be a little disappointed with the second series, which is comprised of only seven figures rather than twelve toys (as with Series 1).  When asked about the reduction, the representative from Mattel replied, “The decision was made to focus more on the Justice League Unlimited line.  As a result, we had to scale back our production of the Avengers toys.  In addition, some of the JLU characters which were to be released within the Avengers line instead will be put out on the shelves under the Justice League banner.”  Though smaller in scope, Series 2 nonetheless features some great sculpts and fan-favorite characters, including “Justice League Detroit” member Commander Steel!  Hopefully this will not be the end of this excellent companion to the JLU toy line, and the characters that didn’t make this year’s cut will be seen in the future.
