X-MEN LEGENDS GIFT PACK: Danger Room!
Ryu's alternate screaming head from SOTA's Street Fighter series was the catalyst for this set of figures, as it became Banshee's.  The timing of Marvel Legends 9 added the parts needed for Forge, and the idea to make this a set was born.  The other figures just fell into place as I looked for source material.  And while Banshee was the first I started, he was also the last to be finished, as I looked for a way to make his wings.

From left to right: Banshee, Forge, Storm, Wolverine, Gambit, and Psylocke

Gambit was nearly the easiest figure to assemble.  He uses the head, torso, and crotch of ML4 Gambit, the trenchcoat and arms of XMC Gambit (recipe credit to Fwooshnet.com's Industrial), and the gloves and legs of XMC Cyclops (that was all me, baby!)  The neck strap is a rubber band with Super Sculpey details.  The belt is a rubber band with a thumb tack buckle.  The staff is a painted wooden skewer, as I could never get the original plastic one straight enough.

Gambit: 38 points of articulation
Accessories: Cajun battle staff, annoying accent

Forge uses the head from ML Dr. Strange - Fwooshnet.com's RoboKillah suggested it to me, right before everyone started using it for Forge.  His bandanna is vinyl with parts from ML Elektra.  His ponytail is twisted craft wire.  His body is a F4 Movie Series 2 Mr. Fantastic, with ML Deathlok's right hand and thigh.  Assorted straps are rubber band with Super Sculpey details.  The belt buckle is a thumbtack.  The stylish boot tassles are cut vinyl.  (Click here for an even more dull write-up for this previously released custom.)

Forge: 38 points of articulation
Accessories: paintball sniper rifle, styling bandanna, boot tassles

Psylocke was the easiest custom to assemble.  Sensing an opportunity to increase the size of my Custom Con entry, I took the head off my Psylocke custom (resculpted ML Elektra with Sculpey Flex ponytail) and stuck it on the Storm custom from this series.  The group shot?  Yes, it shows off my lack of Photoshop skills.  The psychic knife (also from that custom) is a bit of ML Gambit's card blast.  The katana is from a ML brown / tan Wolverine.

Psylocke: 40 points of articulation
Accessories: katana, psychic knife (did we mention that it's the sum totality of her psychic powers?)

Banshee follows the same basic recipe as Forge - using a movie Mr. Fantastic body.  The head is from SOTA Street Fighter Ryu (the alternate screaming head).  His thighs have been shortened by a bit at the ball joint, a process I was too lazy to repeat with Forge.  As with the rest, straps are rubber bands with Super Sculpey details and a thumb tack belt buckle.  The wings are cut vinyl, sprayed with black vinyl dye, masked and sprayed with white vinyl dye and then painted.  The stripes on those wings killed any urge to re-use this recipe for a classic green and yellow Banshee.

Banshee: 38 points of articulation
Accessories: none, but those vinyl wings sure are sexy

Storm is the combination of the head of a Clive Barker's Infernal Parade Bethany Bled and the body of a Fantastic Four box set Invisible Woman.  The glove cuffs were sculpted on top of cut vinyl in an attempt to retain the wrist swivel.  The articulation was lost anyways, as I didn't want to resculpt them if I broke them forcing it free.  As with the rest, straps are rubber bands with Super Sculpey details and a thumb tack belt buckle.  And yes, I would have re-used this custom for a Jubilee too, if Storm wasn't so tall and so stacked.

Storm: 40 points of articulation
Accessories: none, but with a body like that, who cares?

Wolverine uses the alternate head from the ML Weapon X on an XMC tiger stripe Wolverine.  The action feature was removed and sculpted over, but retains the abdominal swivel.  I also sculpted a bigger booty, but you guys will have to trust me on that one.  The boot flares were removed with a dremel, and luckily the boot straps obscure how big the calves really are.  As with the rest, straps are rubber bands with Super Sculpey details and a thumb tack belt buckle.  He's missing the straps on his gloves (too lazy), but I won't tell anyone if you won't.

Wolverine: 24 points of articulation
Accessories: he has adamantium claws and a bad temper - what else would he need?

*We apologize that Wolverine is part of this assortment - no toy line (or comic) is complete without him!
