“Truth is as subjective as reality”
Jose Chung You know what one of my favorite things about these
conventions is, other than the spandex-clad
spokesmodels? Promotional or convention-only figures
that the companies use to promote their figure lines.
I thought I’d show a couple of the cool promo figures
I picked up at the Fall 2004 CustomCon.
Agent Monica Reyes and Writer Jose Chung are from
Palisades upcoming PALz line. Palisades continues
their tradition of convention-exclusive figures with
several preview figures from their eagerly awaited
X-Files PALz line. Block figures are all the rage
right now, and the X-Files PALz line promises to be
exciting, with classic characters from the hit
television show.
Riddick from the movie Pitch Black. Riddick was
released in Minimates form by Art Asylum as a
promotional figure in conjunction with the special
edition DVD of Pitch Black. Reportedly, Art Asylum
will also be releasing a special Minimate figure for
the DVD release of The Chronicles of Riddick: the
character played by Dame Judi Dench. So all you
customizers can finally have a base figure for that“
M” character from the latter Bond films.
Battle-Damaged Captain Archer from the television show“
Enterprise”. This figure is being released as an
exclusive in conjunction with The House of Ketracel
White. Captain Archer continues in the tradition of
Captain Kirk as a hands-on leader, ready to dust it up
with just about any alien who crosses his path.
Unfortunately, this means he usually ends up on the
wrong end of whipping just about every other episode.
Battle-Damaged Captain Archer is another in the very
fine Star Trek line from Art Asylum.
